Puppetshow for Animal Lovers
of All Ages
PUBLIC EYE: ARTISTS FOR ANIMALS PRESENTS, FROM THE MOUTH
OF THE RIVER, FEATURING PUPPETRY, DANCE & THEATER
PHILADELPHIA, PA (May
12th) - Public
Eye: Artists for Animals presents, From the Mouth of the River, a family-oriented performance
featuring puppet shows, dance and theater to raise awareness about human impact
on aquatic animals in the Delaware Valley ecosystem and beyond. It addresses
environmental issues and conflicts between humans and their aquatic neighbors.
The animals voice their concerns and offer witty, creative solutions. They
remind us that all of the water in the world is connected, so what we put in
our water locally makes a difference globally.
If you ever
wondered what life was like for animals under the water, this performance is
for you! Plus, you can make origami
animals and enjoy vegan treats before the show starts. Puppetry will include
"The Great Auk" by The Renaissance Artist Puppet Company, "The Under World" by The Skekses, and "Not in MY
Neighborhood!" by Alisa
Sickora Kleckner & Company. Very visual with handmade puppets and
costumes! Original live music accompanies professional theater and dance.

Public Eye:
Artists for Animals presents a puppetshow to raise awareness about human impact
on aquatic animals. Concern for our oceans is rising among the scientific
community due to global warming. This puppetshow informs the next
generation, in a kid-friendly way, about global warming, pollution, overfishing
and other issues affecting aquatic animals.
ÒFrom the Mouth of the River is an empowering
performance, where kids are given tools to help save the oceans and aquatic
animals,Ó says Lisa Levinson, director and co-founder of
Public Eye: Artists for Animals, a Philadelphia group helping animals through
the arts. ÒAt the show, kids can learn and have fun! They participate in
a tribal council that decides the fate of the ocean. After the show, they
can sign petitions, send letters to congress and receive simple tips about ways
they can help at home. Our goal is to raise awareness
about what is really going on under the sea.Ó
This
performance was made possible by a grant from The Culture & Animals
Foundation and
additional funding from Mobilization For Animals Pennsylvania.
