animals in order to shed light on hidden or ignored
injustices and to promote a cruelty-free lifestyle.

Artists for Animals
Presents
“Not A Drop To Drink”
Performance & Parade
a Success!
|
| Many
thanks to everyone who attended our premiere of "Not
A Drop To Drink!" The performance and parade were
a huge success, raising awareness about the dangers
of fracking (process used to drill for natural gas).
Participants saw how Farmer Green was manipulated by
Mr. Slick, and his sidekicks Frick & Frack, into
signing a contract to lease his land to natural gas
drillers. They were moved as animals shared their tale
of woe, like the rabbit who went blind from ingesting
poisoned water. Luckily, the animals saved the day
and Farmer Green went on to warn Philly about fracking.
Participants helped by marching in our parade with
large-scale animal puppets, signing petitions, and
sending letters. You can help too by reading the "Action
A Day" flyer and sending the letter. For more
info about fracking and how to protect our watershed,
contact Iris Marie Bloom: protectingourwaters@gmail.com. |

Here
is a slideshow of Public Eye's kids club visit
to the Main Line
Animal Rescue (MLAR) on April
10, 2010. We enjoyed our tour there and thank Ms.
Lauren (our guide) and Ms. Stevie for setting this
up for us. It was a treat to see the beautiful
landscape and meet the wonderful dogs and cats
who luckily found their way to MLAR. We even got
to meet Mr. Bill Smith, founder of MLAR! Artist
Zipora Schulz showed kids how to create fun fabric
and paper quilts displaying symbols of animal companions.
Kids said that every animal in the shelter deserves
a home and reflected on the love animal companions
bring to their human families. Thanks to our intern
Ms. Prarthana & volunteer Ms. Louise
for all their help and for coming along for the ride
into the countryside.

Fun
at
Veg-In
|
| Our
second annual Veg-In was lots of fun! The Veg-In
is part of the national Meat-Out campaign, celebrating
a day without eating animals. Jaynel Hollis of Greenwood
Kitchen taught kids how to make carrot-orange juice
and popcorn snacks with tasty vegan toppings. Kids
went wild with artist Zipora Schulz who brought love
beads, cloth peace flags using tracers and stickers,
and poster materials to create the decor of a 1960's
Sit-In. Special thanks to Essene
Market & Cafe for hosting our event. |
